RAKKAN RAMEN NOW OPEN AT SOARING RANCH
Truckee’s newest restaurant RAKKAN Ramen opened its doors on Monday, September 25

TRUCKEE, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2023) – Known for its healthy and tasty high-quality vegetable broth RAKKAN Ramen held its grand opening on Monday, September 25. Located in Soaring Ranch, the Raley’s O-N-E Market shopping center, the new restaurant gave away 100 bowls of free ramen on its opening day and the community responded, by 11am they had a line out the door.

“We are excited to have RAKKAN Ramen at Soaring Ranch,” said Art Chapman, founder and chairman of JMA Holdings. “There has been a lot of anticipation about the restaurant since we announced they were joining our community. With the cooler weather the past few weeks, Truckee is ready to warm up with ramen – they could not have timed their debut any better.”

RAKKAN Ramen began as a small, 4-seater restaurant in Nishiazabu, Tokyo, in 2011. But the business had its eyes set on making real Japanese soul food on an international scale, hence their motto, authentic Japanese food, ready for the world. They believe the choice we make about what we eat, where it comes from, and how it’s made has a direct and powerful impact on the health of individuals, communities, and the planet.

“We’re thrilled to bring the authentic flavors of Japan to the North Tahoe food scene,” said  Ryohei Ito, CEO and founder of RAKKAN Ramen. “The team put so much effort into every aspect of the restaurant. We are happy to invite the Truckee community to try the rich flavors of traditional ramen cuisine.”

The RAKKAN Ramen menu features an array of ramen bowls composed from 5 ramen bases: AMBER (soy sauce base), PEARL (salt base), GARNET (miso base), SPICY GARNET (spicy miso base), and QUARTZ (creamy base). Their ramen bowls are typically served with grilled pork, seasoned egg, and bamboo shoots, however the GARNET, SPICY GARNET and QUARTZ bases can be converted into vegan options topped with sautéed mushrooms, tofu, and corn. This allows RAKKAN to offer a wide range of food choices for everyone from vegan to protein loving patrons. Each soup is measured, and every batch of noodles is cooked to perfection so every bite you take is sublime.

In addition to their ramen, RAKKAN Ramen provides tasty appetizers and sides including traditional Japanese dishes such as takoyaki (octopus balls) and gyozas (deep fried dumplings) and more innovative items such as the crowd favorite RAKKAN buns with pork, chicken, or vegan fillings.

Dine in at their new space at their bar or grab a table. Take out and order your meal to go via their website. RAKKAN Ramen is open seven days a week from 11am to 9am.
