SOARING RANCH BLOCK PARTY | JULY 19 FROM 5 TO 9PM | FREE LIVE MUSIC

The warm sunny days of summer are giving way to cooler weather, and green leaves are turning to yellow and brown. Though we may miss days on the lake, autumn in Truckee just means a shift in the types of adventures – and remembering to bring an extra layer.

Leaf Peeping in Truckee

Seeing the changing foliage is always a fall favorite – and Truckee has a fair share of places to enjoy the view. Even a short stroll downtown will get you in the autumn mood, and there are many trails just a short drive from downtown. From Soaring Ranch, you can easily access miles of trails in Martis Valley. Head up to Donner Summit for panoramic views, and a little high elevation kick to your hike. Just a short drive from Truckee you can find classic autumn aspen groves on the east shore of the lake near Spooner Summit.

Mountain Biking in Truckee

The cooler temperatures of autumn are perfect for two-wheeled adventures. So grab your bike and get ready to hit the trails! Just a short ride from Soaring Ranch, the Truckee Bike Park is a great spot to brush up on your skills whether you’re just learning to ride, or ready to hit the black diamond line. As well, the Martis Valley provides access to trails suitable for the whole family. Check out Truckee Trails Foundation for more options for both hiking and biking in Truckee.

Fall Beer Tasting in Truckee

Whether you crave pumpkin spice, or traditional Oktoberfest beer flavors – fall is a great time to sample local brewer’s latest creations, and Truckee is home to some great brewers. Spend some time in the beer garden at Alibi Ale Works, enjoy sampling locally foraged ingredients at the Good Wolf Brewing Company, or take your palate on an adventure at Truckee Brewing Company (coming soon to Soaring Ranch!)

Truckee’s Historical Haunted Tour

Each year Truckee residents and guests get to explore the darker side of the town’s history during the Truckee Historical Haunted Tour. Participants are treated to a private tour through town where each stop shares a sordid tale via live performance. The even is a fundraiser for Trails and Vistas and it sells out every year so be sure to book tickets early! Visit truckeehistorytour.org for more information.
